When it is the middle of April in Nova Scotia and the weather is good.. maybe not great but good... you gear up and ride! If you're not already out then you're behind and you better get on it!! (Looking at you Blinker)
Saturday was destined to be our first signifigant ride, with Tank off to Bootcamp and Mitts and Mace already in the province, we geared up early and hit the road. Mitts told us about another family member having a bit of a spill the day before so it was a no brainer that we all venture to Moncton and check in on him... back roads of course. The route. was fantastic.. (watch the map video for more info on that) and I finally seen where Dorchester Pen is after having lived in the Maritimes for almost my whole life. It was nicer then I thought.... for what I could see. What was amazing were the roads! While sitting. in Moncton. it was clear that we would have to make the decision to soon book it for home or come up with an alternate plan.. Gadget surprised me with. an over night stay in Amherst. We decided to check in on the Amherst Super 8 there and was extremely pleased. Our room was very affordable, SUPER CLEAN, there. was a pool and hot tub. (which required an impromptu trip to Walmart for bathing suits) and even a motorcycle wash station out back. The staff (Georgana ?) was so sweet and super excited to have bikers starting to stop in. again. I guess we were her first of the season... We didn't partake in the breakfast but did take advantage of a few cups of coffee to get us going. Sunday morning we took our time getting up and hitting the back roads home, stopping along the way to wish our motosister the happiest of birthdays.. even if the cake was carrot and I couldn't eat it :( .... the icing was delish!) The weather Sunday wasnt as promising but we made it home without a drop of rain so that is always a bonus
